"Skill without imagination is craftsmanship and gives us many useful objects such as wickerwork picnic baskets. Imagination without skill gives us modern art." -- Tom Stoppard

Music

I'm not much of a musician, but I do my best. As a kid I played the trumpet; I was never terribly good at it, but I learned to read music, and to enjoy playing. (I never learned to enjoy performing, but it was probably good for me in one way or another).

I didn't play at all while I was at sixth form college or university; in total there was a six year period where I barely picked up an instrument. That seems quite odd now. A year and a half ago I took up classical guitar, and I've enjoyed it immensely. More recently I've ventured into rather unusual territory and started playing the harp.

One of my harp books states that you should share your playing, whether formally or informally. And being me I thought I could do that by putting it on here. There won't be anything too amazing, I'm afraid, but I hope it's at least vaguely interesting.
